Topics fit the age range; age does not determine communication ability.
Keep familiar words and personal changes. There is no need to switch on a birthday.

Everyday 36: 96 linked pages; mixed school-age 36-choice boards.
Everyday 48: 88 linked pages; 48-choice home and teen pages, with 36-choice shared topics.
Controls are additional to the word choices. Choose a comfortable size.

These are separate original vocabularies with a home page, everyday words,
spelling, and linked topic folders. No one’s personal vocabulary is included.
Keep your child’s usual vocabulary available. These new complete builds need
a first test in TouchChat before everyday use.

LOAD IT ONCE
1. Download the chosen .ce file on the iPad, or AirDrop it from your Mac.
2. Open Files (the blue folder), then Browse and Downloads. Downloads may be
   inside iCloud Drive or On My iPad.
3. Tap the .ce file. Accept the import into TouchChat and save with a NEW name,
   such as “Everyday ages 5–7 test”. Do not replace the usual vocabulary.
4. If it does not open: in TouchChat, choose Vocab > Choose New Vocab > Menu >
   Import/Export Vocab > Import from files, and choose the .ce file.
5. Open Vocab > Choose New Vocab and select the new name. All included pages
   are already linked. You do not need to make another button to use this build.

FIND YOUR WORDS
Home: common words for making your own messages.
Words: people, actions, descriptions, questions, time, feelings, body and more.
Topics: folders for food, school, home, interests, celebrations and other activities.
Spell: letters, with a link to numbers and punctuation.
Back: the parent page or the previous part of a longer word list.
Space: one space in the message bar.
Delete: removes one character from the end of the message.
Clear: empties the message bar.
Tap the message bar in TouchChat to speak the whole message.

FIRST TRY
Tap I, then want. Open Topics > Food and drinks > Drinks and tap water.
The bar should keep “I want water” as you change pages. Tap it to speak.
Tap Home; it should return to THIS build’s home page, with the message retained.
Tap Clear, then Spell. Spell cat, tap Space, and spell dog.
On Everyday 16, use More spell a word and Back to reach all the letters.
Delete should turn “cat dog” into “cat do”. Clear should empty the bar.

If text disappears after speaking, check Menu > Settings > Speak > Auto Clear
and select Off. If the message bar does not speak, check its Tap Action is Speak.
Button names may vary with TouchChat version.

GO BACK TO THE USUAL VOCABULARY
Vocab > Choose New Vocab > select the usual name.
Home only moves within the vocabulary that is currently open.

ADD THESE PAGES TO AN EXISTING VOCABULARY LATER
First copy the usual vocabulary and work in that copy. Use Menu > Edit Page >
Menu > Import/Copy Pages > Import Another Page. Select the new full build as
the source and select EVERY page, including all menus, before importing.
Then create one opening button with Button Actions > Add > Navigate and
choose “Home · everyday words” from the copied build. Use Navigate so the
page stays open after selecting words. Do not change the existing vocabulary’s
default home just to add these pages. The website’s copy-and-link guide explains
these steps with more detail.

PERSONALIZE TOGETHER
Add chosen names and personal photos. Keep useful words in familiar places.
Hide or adapt celebrations to match the family. Body pictures are simple
educational cues for talking about comfort, pain and privacy.
These original builds do not contain WordPower’s grammar engine or arrangement.
Choose and personalize communication supports with the communicator and therapist.
